  18. CERN has its traditional power-saving salary-saving shutdown over Christmas
  19. and the new year.  During this time the WWW server on info.cern.ch should
  20. (I hope!) continue running and still be connected with the outside world.
  21. The basic web overviews by subject etc will therefore be available, as will
  22. be anonymous FTP and telnet services.

  24. The computer center however and the servers in the ECP division will
  25. shut down, so some CERN-related information will be unavailable for all or part  
  26. of the period from today to the 5th January. Please accept our apologies for  
  27. such missing services.
